Co-owned with Centennial Angus, Culbertson, MT

We purchased 8296 from Coleman Angus in Charlo, MT because we liked him both individually and for his pedigree.  After getting his first calf crop on the ground, we were a bit concerned that some of his calves’ birth weights were on the upper end of what we consider acceptable.  But as his calves developed and his daughters came into production, we recognized that his positives far outweigh our concerns over his birth weight.  Sired by Rito 149 and out of the Dixie Erica cow family at Rollin Rock, you would expect 8296’s daughters to be good and they are just that.  Moderate framed with very long hip structure and extreme depth in their flank and rib cage, and base width in their chest floor, 8296 daughters are made for longevity.  Their udder structure is flawless and they are very feminine necked.  We will selectively mate him through AI in the future to moderate his birth weights a bit and accumulate more of his daughters.  His ability to add fleshing ability and volume along with feet and leg structure that enhances longevity dictates that we use 8296 in the future.
